First Baptist Church of Safford is a body of Christians devoted to serving God. We believe this can be accomplished by diligently studying the Bible and by applying what we learn. We belive that the Bible is the primary source for guidance and understanding of who God is, and that its human authors were divinely inspired to say exactly what God wanted said. Although time and language barriers have distanced us somewhat from the original text of the Bible, most of our modern day translations are extremely accurate and verifiable. Because of this, we hold to the Bible as the primary and most reliable source for our beliefs.
We support missionaries across the globe, from Africa to Papua New Guinea to South America to Salt Lake City! But we do not believe that our God-given command to reach the world ends there. We also seek to reach out to our own community. We do this in many ways, but primarily by participating in local events, by helping the needy, and by sharing the good news of the gospel with those around us.

We have a Sunday Morning Sunday School hour beginning at 9:30 AM, and our regular service begins at 10:30 AM. There are various Sunday School classes targeted at separate age groups; infant and toddler childcare is also provided for the church service. On Sunday evening we have one regular Bible study at the Pastor's house, which starts at 6:30 PM. Call the above number for more information. On Wednesdays there is often Men's and Women's Bible studies, see the Events page for more information. Friday evening the Pastor hosts youth group activites at his home.
